Summer, also known as season of mangoes is here. Isn’t it tempting to have a lot of mangoes each single day? No question that this King of fruits, is one of the delicious fruits, but you should know what is the effect of mango consumption over your skin.
Mangoes are rich in vitamins like vitamin A, C and E, along with potassium and fibre. Vitamin C and A has anti-oxidant properties, which help skin to glow and provide protection against UV rays by neutralizing free radicles. Vitamin C also promotes collagen synthesis, leading to youthful skin. But if you have oily, acne prone skin, you should be cautious about mango consumption. Mango has high glycemic index, which leads to high sugar spike, which in turn stimulate androgen production. Androgen hormones, signal oil producing glands, to product more n more oil, leading to clog pores and acne exacerbation. Hence if you have oily, acne prone skin, you should have mangoes in moderation and try not to have it at once, instead have it in small portions.
